Important Elements In Wolf's Rain
- Written by Sol (08/11/04)
The Moon-A Source of power
and inspiration for the wolves, it helps them in minor ways in their
ever-searching quest for paradise. If some wolves are deemed fit to enter
paradise It supposedly will turn red, and guide them to paradise.
Toboe's Bracelet- A momento of his fallen owner, Toboe wears his bracelet for
the old woman, his owner, which he killed on accident by jumping on her and
choking her.
Paradise-An unknown area, the destination of all wolves. The focal point of the
whole Wolf's Rain story, Kiba and his fellow packmates constantly search for
this place. Supposedly, when they do find it, the world will end.
Lunarflower-An extremely rare plant, it was a flower that, back in the past,
bloomed in the full moon. Now thought to be excinct, Lunarflowers supposedly
only grow in Paradise.
Darcia's Eye- Underneath his eye patch is the eye of a wolf. Darcia himself
states that his eye is nothing but a "curse," which has plagued his family for
generations. While his normal eye is fine, his wolf eye can knock people
unconcious, and also see wolves camoflauged in their human form. His eye
possesses him and makes him strive to reach Paradise.
The Book of The Moon-A holy book that expains how wolves came to be. Explaining
that wolves eventually came from Paradise and lived among humans in an era of
prosperity, now long gone. It also states of how the moon will guide the lucky
few wolves to Paradise.
Nobles-A group of highly revered rulers, there are 3 Nobles: Okum, Jagura, and
Darcia. They all strive to obtain the Flower Maiden, for reasons unknown.
The Desert of Bones- A place to elude your mind, this desert takes away your
spirit and sends it to a world where all your immense desires are fufilled.
Bringing death to countless victims, it is a sinister place. Kiba was caught
here, but fortunately was rescued.
The Flower Maiden-Created by
a Lunarflower in one of the Darcia family's labs, almost every character in the
anime searches for her. She helps the wolves find the Red Moon, which in turn
will guide them to Paradise.
Paradise Sickness-A sickness that overwhelmed Darcia's lover, Harmona, and
rendered her soul useless. The only supposed cure to the sickness was the Flower
Maiden herself, but the Noble Jagura eliminated Harmona, making the Flower
Maiden useless to Darcia.
Moonlight Power Plant-A plant constructed by Jagura, one of the three Nobles, to
open the gates to Paradise. Powered by the Flower Maiden and wolves, Jagura
almost succeeded in opening the gates, but was eventually killed by Kiba and his
pack.
Freeze City-The opening city of Wolf's Rain, governed by the Noble Okum, who
stole the Flower Maiden from Darcia's labs in order for his researchers (Cher
Degre) to gather information about her and Paradise. She was eventually taken
back by Darcia.
Quent's Hatred For Wolves- The reason why Quent hates wolves so much and tracks
them down relentlessly is becuase they, or so he believes, killed hiis whole
family. In his memories, he can see his house burning, with the sinster
silhouettes of wolves in the background. For that reason, he hates wolves and
chases them down everywhere.
Forest of Death-Behind the
castle that is called Darcia's keep, is a forest called the Forest of Death.
Kiba and his packmates passed this forest. Seemingly endless, everything in
there is dead: the animals, the trees, the grass...fortunately, there is a way
out, in a secluded cave, only to be found if shown the way by a mysterious owl.
Tsume's Scar-Upon his chest, is an X-Shaped scar. None of his packmates notice
it or say anything about it, but it was thought to be obtained through one of
his raids on cargo trains or any form of the extremely wealthy Noble famlies of
Okum, Jagura, and Darcia.
